Best Coal Mining Locations in Runescape
Once you hit Mining Level 30, you can start mining coal in Runescape. We’ll take a glance at a number of the best places in Runescape to mine for coal for both members and free players, including some places that are great for lower level characters.
Coal Trucks
of the best places for members to mine coal in Runescape is at the coal trucks west of McGrubor’s Wood (an important area for Runescape’s Fishing Competition quest). Here, there’s 18 coal rocks and three carts. As you mine the coal, you can put it in to the nearby carts and then retrieve it later at the cart station near the bank in Seers’ Village. The carts will normally hold 120 pieces of coal, but in case you wear the Seers’ Headband, they will hold even more up to 196 ores with the Seers’ Headband three.
The only drawback to the area is that it might be a bit annoying to those with a combat level of 54 or lower. There’s several level 27 Giant Bats in the area that are aggressive and will assault somebody with those lower levels. However, in case you have a combat level of 55 or higher, they won’t bother you at all. Even if your combat level is not that high, you can manage to keep away from the bats in case you move to different areas of the mine or stand on opposite sides of the coal rocks when mining.
All players, both free and members, can access the Mining Guild as long as they have the necessary Mining level. If you are stuck at level 59, you can run over to the Rising Sun in Falador and buy a Dwarven Stout for three Rs Gold that will boost your Mining level by one, allowing you to get in the guild. However, this boost doesn’t last for long, so it is best to drink the beer right before entering. One time inside the Mining Guild, you’ll be able to stay when the boost disappears. But, in the event you leave, you’ll require to drink another before entering again.
Mining Guild
In the event you have a Mining skill level of at least 60 or can receive this level through the use of stat-boosting items, the Mining Guild is an excellent place to mine coal since it is so close to the east Falador bank and contains 37 coal rocks. The Mining Guild has entrances in the dwarven mines and in southeast Falador. The latter entrance is the closest to a bank and is shown in the screenshot to the right. East Ardougne
Another area in Runescape with an ample number of coal rocks is northeast of East Ardougne. This is a members-only location, but it’s the advantage of usually being deserted and still not far from the southern East Ardougne bank. There’s 12 coal rocks here, so you ought to be able to mine constantly without having to wait long for the ore to respawn.
Another advantage of this mining area is that it also has a few iron rocks. This can be helpful if you are mining both coal and iron to smelt together to make steel bars.
Southwest Lumbridge Swamp
If you are a free player that cannot get in to the Mining Guild yet, you can still mine coal at the mine in the southwest area of the Lumbridge Swamp. There’s 7 coal rocks here in addition to five mithril and two adamantite rocks.
The closest bank to this mining location is in Draynor Village, and it is a nice small jaunt to get there. Still, in case you have a lower Mining level and are not a member, it is not that bad of a run, in case you can over a full stock of coal on every trip.
